Dots And Pixels finally opens its doors at the 5/F of SM Megamall Fashion Hall and it is my first time to attend an opening of a printing shop, and so I thought. Well dear readers they are not the usual printing shop that we go to, they specialize in Tarpaulins and other printing needs like posters, photos, business cards, event shirts, name it they can do it. But what interests me more was they can actually do stickers, not the ordinary ones, stickers that can be seen both ways or through the glass and the one thing I am truly excited about is the kind of high end stickers they can actually create for walls. You see in one of my previous post, I shared our new project that will be up in 5 years, and as early as now I've been looking into furniture, paints and what nots for our future home and I am just so glad that Dots And Pixels can help me in the future like "in 5 years" lol!

Meet Jengjeng, COO (child of owner haha!) she is the one who is really into this art type of business, we talked about their different services like if you plan to create a business and you are unsure on how it would look like, or wanted a theme for a room but because you have limited space you have uncertainties, Dots and Pixels could actually help you with anything, all you have to do is drop by at their shop and they'll help us take care of our worries.

So now my dear friends, you know where to go... Dots & Pixels 😃

Check out my IG: @chubbychitchat to see the sample print of our family photo courtesy of Dots & Pixels of course 😬

One knows that the Christmas season is upon us when the radio starts playing Yuletide songs, malls are installed with holiday decorations, and people start making Christmas gift lists.

Christmas is all about making memories. With FUJIFILM’s instax cameras, it is now possible to preserve them and have physical copies of moments spent with friends and family.

Fujifilm brand ambassador Bea Alonzo knows the importance of spreading holiday cheer and sharing her blessings. On screen, she makes it a point to always deliver a good performance. Away from the spotlight, she is a great believer that you best learn about the world when you travel. Bea comes from a small family, with only one sibling but like most Filipino families, she has uncles and aunts and nephews and nieces. She has explored the many beautiful spots in the country with them.

But when Bea wants time for herself, she goes on travel adventures on her own, solo flight. In all these little expeditions, she never forgets to bring her FUJIFILM mirrorless cameras with her, particularly the X-A2 and X-A3. The X-A2 and X-A3 are both lightweight and thus easy to carry around. “A camera phone is not enough,” says Bea. “Tayong mga tao nakakalimot. Maganda na may isang bagay na nagre-remind sa atin ng mga magagandang alaala.”

The X-A2 allows users to capture important moments with superb image quality that FUJIFILM’s X-Series is known for while the X-A3 comes with a retro design that is fashionable and a hit with the younger set.

Recently, Bea has grown to love the instax cameras. “I am learning to appreciate scrapbooking,” Bea shares. “Or I can hang the prints on the walls of my room or I can deposit them in a box.”

With the launch of FUJIFILM’s Photo Diary, Bea can look forward to having her photos gathered together into an album, properly selected and labeled, and accomplished in minutes. Developed through FUJIFILM’s Image Organizing Technology, it makes possible owning your own coffee table book instead of the traditional photo album. It is not bulky and can be tagged along everywhere, a constant reminder of moments well spent.

With Christmas fast approaching, you can take Bea’s word for it. It is best to give our loved ones gifts that we ourselves thought of and spent time working on.

Try the following DIY Christmas gift ideas that Bea highly recommends:

Make a calendar. Use your instax to take snaps of whatever catches your fancy or moments that are fleeting. You can also print them using the instax Share SP-2 printer. The Share SP-2 lets you edit your photos first before you print them. The next thing to do is to attach the instax prints to a store-bought calendar. Also try to write on the margins of every page memorable lines from popular Bea Alonzo films like “One More Chance” and “A Second Chance.”

Mark it with a bookmark. Books don’t grow old. They function not only as a physical copy of stories with characters, lines, and moments that we carry with us as we go through our lives. If the person you’re thinking of giving a present to is a big Paulo Coelho fan like Bea, why not take a photo of a river (one of the Portuguese writer’s books is entitled “By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept”) with your instax and embellish it with the print?

Create a wine tasting journal with instax photos. Wines are never missing at Christmas parties. Start by choosing well-loved wines. Take photos of bottles, labels, etc. with your instax. Attach the photos to pages in a notebook, and write down flavors, aromas, vintage and regions.

Delight with a hanging mobile with instax photos. Liven up the room of a gift recipient with a hanging mobile decorated with instax photos. Add text and embellishments on the photos as you wish, and then clip or tape the photos to strings. Tie the strings to the sticks and hang the completed mobile from the ceiling.

Vitacubes vitamin-candy had a grand family day event held at the Active Fun, BGC and of course our family is present. The event was attended by mostly Mommy Bloggers like me who is also curious and excited at the same time. It was my first encounter with Vitacubes and I was immediately convinced that this could be a good alternative or substitute for candies or junk food.

Vitacubes is packed with vitamins and minerals, it has different fruity flavors that kids will surely enjoy and it is very soft and chewable I would not be afraid that my toddler might accidentally choke on it. So anyway, we had an afternoon packed with activities for kids such as games, magic show and a one hour pass to play at Active Fun, indeed it is a bonding day for families, thanks to Vita Cubes. By the way Vita Cubes pack comes in a pack where it is individually wrapped per piece and the usual snack type packaging, get these awesome snacks for your kids in leading groceries and supermarkets nationwide.

We all know too well that the holiday season can be problematic amid higher demand for consumer products and the capability to distribute them on time.

Through the years we have seen time and time again how the horrendous traffic in Metro Manila compounds this problem. For many of holiday gift-givers and the would-be Santas, making their loved ones wait is simply not acceptable.

Fortunately, this can be addressed by a few logistics providers that can help move things around the metro.

Transportify now gives the market a cheaper and more efficient alternative for their on-demand logistics needs.

A mobile and web application that connects customers with qualified independent contractors (driver partners), Transportify is the ideal logistics solution for delivering anything within Metro Manila and even surrounding areas. With a pool of over 1,500 driver-partners in less than 5 months of operations in the Philippines, Transportify has the network and capacity to address on-demand logistics not only during holidays but all year round.

For MPVs, customers only need to shell out P250 for the first 3 kilometers and P20 for every km thereafter. Need a bigger vehicle? No problem, they also have L300s that start at P600 for the first 3kms and P30 for every km thereafter.

Noel Abelardo, Head of Business Program, said: “We want to help move things faster and more efficiently in Metro Manila this holiday season. Transportify will help business customers and even

individuals manage their logistics needs so they can focus on things that really matter to them. Our value proposition for on-demand logistics needs is better than what is available in the market."

With Transportify, delivery needs for holiday is no longer worrisome. Yes, even with the phenomenal Metro Manila traffic. Transportify will cater to the special needs of its customers efficiently and on time.

For a worry-free logistics solution, either for your corporate giveaways, event and promotional materials, office raffle prices from huge appliances to small tokens for your employees, or just simply gifts for your loved ones, download the Transportify app on Apple Store for iOS devices, and on Google Play Store for Android devices. Book now for your immediate and scheduled delivery needs.

Founded by Inspire Ventures and Ardent Capital, Deliveree (known in the Philippines as Transportify) is a mobile and web app that allows you to book and manage pickups and deliveries of almost anything in select metro areas across Southeast Asia. Colgate-Palmolive Philippines celebrates 90 years of operations in the country, providing generations of Filipinos with quality brands for oral care, personal care and home care such as Colgate, Palmolive, Tender Care, Gard, Axion and Ajax.

The Palmolive Company Philippines was established in 1926 with an office in the Binondo district of Manila with just five employees. Products sold during those days included Pompeia cosmetics, Octagon laundry powder and Crystal White laundry bar.

It merged with Peet Brothers the following year and with Colgate Company in 1928. Popular products such as Colgate Ribbon dental cream and Cashmere Bouquet toiletries were added to the product range along with Palmolive soaps, pushing accelerated growth for the next few years. Products at that time were delivered to stores by carabao or horse-drawn carts.

In 1941, during World War II, invading soldiers sealed the office and looted the warehouse. Loyal employees were instructed by their imprisoned manager to preserve company records. Two employees managed to enter the office but couldn't escape with the ledgers.

They ended up manually copying all entries, word for word, for over a week. With records intact, the company was able to collect all receivables from insurance after the war and resume business.

Soon after, Ajax powder cleanser was introduced to the market and, in 1949, the company was incorporated as Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc.

I actually have a lot of pictures stored on my laptop and my phone, and not all are posted on my social media accounts. Nowadays having them printed and putting them each in an album is so much of a hassle and time consuming plus a bit pricey in terms of wanting to print them all lol! But here's the good news, Fujifilm came up with this awesome "Photo Diary" yep, it is a book like finish but with our photos in it, the paper used is water resistant and the print is in top quality. Imagine storing your event photos in a shelf with titles on each of them so you would be able to know which is which, plus it is very affordable like it starts at Php 1,000 for a 16-page of photos depending on the kind of template or layout that you want, so you can customize and fit in small and large photos is one page.

How to do it? If you have much of time, sort through your photos and save it on your USB flash drive, visit any Fujifilm sho and attach ur USB on their machine and then go ahead and edit the photos based on your preference, key in the title, color and personalize, then pay and come back the next day (within 24hrs) to claim. But for those who are in a hurry you can just drop by a Fujifilm store, leave your USB with them and they'll be the one to do it for you, just drop by the next day and voila you'll get your own Photo Diary, it's just that easy.

I will soon try this with our photos, I just need the time to actually sort them lol! But will post again once our Photo Diary is done. So cherish those memories with lovely Photo Diaries from Fujifilm.

While the survey conducted reveals that more Filipino millennials are engaging in regular physical activities outside work, they find it difficult to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle in the modern workplace.

PHILIPPINES, October 27, 2016 – Herbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition company, has released the findings from its Asia Pacific Millennials At Work Survey1, which revealed that Filipino millennials are adapting a healthy, active lifestyle, however, most believe their current workplace environment prevents them from doing so.

Millennials, or people born in between 1980 and 2000, are opting for a workplace that will encourage them to stay active, if only this will be embedded in every company culture. About 83 percent or eight (8) in 10 millennials have agreed that they would like their company workplace to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.

With the millennial generation expected to make up 50 percent of the global workforce by 2020, ensuring the wellbeing of millennials will be important to improving workplace productivity. “There are about 35 million millennials now in the Philippines, which is about one-third of the country’s entire population. Five years from now, millennials will be dominating the labor force. While most millennials want to lead healthy lives, they face real obstacles at work in doing so,”
said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager. “At Herbalife Nutrition, we provide our employees with nutrition products at work, subsidize gym memberships, hold regular wellness programs related to nutrition and well-being, and encourage participation in outdoor activities and sports competitions.”

Additionally, the survey findings revealed the following:
• Seven (7) out of 10 millennials strive to live healthy, active lives
• However, the majority of millennials find it challenging to maintain an active lifestyle at work – eight (8) out of 10 millennials spend 6 to 13 hours at their work desk each day, and 64% of millennials get less than 30 minutes of physical activity - including standing, stretching and walking at work on an average work day.
• Additionally, 64% of millennials cited the “lack of time” as the key obstacle to engaging in physical activity at work.
To provide tips on how millennials and their employers can integrate positive nutrition and life style habits at their workplaces, Herbalife Nutrition has organized a sixth Asia Pacific Wellness Tour, which builds upon the successes of the past five tours that welcomed over 100, 000 participants. Five experts from the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) are scheduled to tour 21 Asian cities from October 7 to 30, to hold a series of talks, workshops and medical symposia across the region.

“Through these efforts, we hope to equip organizations and employees with the right tools to collectively build a healthier work environment across Asia Pacific,” said Valenzuela.

Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D., a member of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board, will be visiting Manila for the Asia Pacific Wellness Tour this October. Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D. will also be sharing expert advice on how millennials can adopt simple positive nutrition and lifestyle habits at work to improve their overall well-being in the long run.

Some of the tips to help foster a healthier millennial workforce include:

• Nutrition

o Dedicate a healthy eating day each week and get colleagues involved in making healthy choices for lunch on this day.
o Boost water intake to help the body digest food, rid the body of toxins, and help deliver nutrients to the cells. Drink at least eight (8) glasses or two (2) liters of water a day.
o Have a protein shake combined with non-fat milk and healthy fruit for breakfast. With 20-30 grams of protein and low-fat contents, it can provide the body with all the nutrition it needs to power through the day.

• Active Living

o Create a playlist that incorporates upbeat music and play with hourly intervals.
o Use Running Apps to keep energized and on-pace during regular runs.
o Set a goal to join running competitions to motivate self to sustain an active lifestyle.

1Herbalife’s Millennials At Work Survey was conducted in 2016, with 5,500 respondents aged 18 and above, from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Herbalife Nutrition Survey News

The Alaska Merry Cremas Food Fest was held last week at the Trinoma Activity Center where a lot of excited participants and expectators came to taste the different food prepared by the exhibitors as their entry for the food fest using the Alaska Crema.

Luckily I was chosen to be one of the judges to taste these wonderful treats, I thought its gonna be easy coz, hey I will just taste the food then that's just it, but I was wrong.

Being a judge takes a lot of responsibilities that goes beyond tasting, as someone who knows how to cook, aside from the taste, presentation and uniqueness that was indicated in my judges sheet, I personally considered the ingridients, time and effort on how I think the food was prepared, hence finishing last in passing my score sheet.

I was overloaded with sweets ( good thing I have my meds with me lol!) all in all my judging experience was not at all that easy, so the next time I'd be watching shows where judges have to make a tough decision I won't judge their decision anymore lol! Thanks Alaska Crema for making this experience super exciting and yeah sweet lol!

Read below for more info about the event.

Press Release

Find Something Delicious at Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest 2016

If there's one thing that best highlights the joys and abundance of the Christmas season, it's the many feasts and gatherings that bring Filipino families and friends together. Aside from the happy memories, the catching-up and the bonding opportunity, it's the sumptuous dishes coming out of the kitchen and even the take-out box that is truly the centerpiece of every Christmas gathering.

The Yuletide Season also marks the opening of many food fairs and bazaars where up and coming food merchants take center stage and get the opportunity to showcase their delicious food products to foodies and the public. Bazaars provide the chance for upcoming names to reach out to a bigger slice of the market at a more convenient setting due to its strategic location, high market traffic and the word-of-mouth advertising it usually brings.

This year's Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest, to be held on Sunday, November 6, from 11AM to 8PM at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City proves to be another exciting gathering of more than 30 food concessionaires all geared up to showcase their various food specialties to the public. While the food on display is a mix of sweet and savory dishes, there's one thing that makes it both delicious and delectable and that is the Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream.

On it’s fourth staging, start-ups and established businesses operating out of their home kitchens relish the opportunity of being able to showcase their specialty dishes, while also having the chance to gain more patrons, thanks to the exposure being offered by the event.

Here, three food merchants speak about their passion for good food and the "créma" that makes it possible.

Chef Jon’s: Sumptuous, mouth-watering cakes
by Chef Joseph Sanvictores

Baking has always been a passion for Joseph Sanvictores, a young chef who is living the dream of starting his own bakery, Chef Jon’s, following a quick detour with food. Already an established chef with multiple food businesses under his name, Chef Joseph started offering cakes and other pastries out of his home kitchen two months ago. As a baker, he credits Alaska Crema for giving his cakes its distinct taste, "What I like about Alaska Crema is that its a cream that's not too overpowering in sweetness; it has that balanced taste that works well for my cakes," he shares.
Since the bakery is still in its infancy, Chef Joseph appreciates the fact that Alaska Crema gives bakers like him value for money -- especially since baking is a business that relies heavily on the use of creams. By joining this year's Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest, he hopes to reach out to a bigger market, with more people having the opportunity to get to know more of his products. Chef Joseph will showcase up to four variants of cake on display, including his best-seller, dubbed the Birthday Cake.

Southern Barbecue: Pinoy favorite made different
by Anna Tugas and Marsie La Sangre

Barbecues are a truly distinct Pinoy staple food, hence making them a dime-a-dozen. Southern Barbecue, a business by long-time friends Anna Tugas and Marsie La Sangre hopes to make that difference by offering their barbecues with a side of Alaska Crema. If this sounds implausible, then all the more that the public should try it.

The two long-time friends have food businesses of their own when they decided to collaborate on a shared food business. After deciding to offer barbecues ("because they're easy to make," says Anna), the two were able to open a physical store in their BF Homes neighborhood. Since barbecue has always been a common viand, the two decided to put an edge and a spin to the staple meal by offering it with a side of garlic sauce, made out of Alaska Crema.

Marsie believes that joining Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest serves as a good marketing tool to their business, on top of having a physical store. The association to the Alaska Créma brand also provides them with the edge and the exposure that will definitely benefit Southern Barbecue.

Batter Up: Sweet brownies and cookies you can’t help but nibble on
by Florence Bayer

Florence Bayer discovered her love of baking when she was still barely out of high school, following a serendipitous turn at the school oven during a home economics class. Bayer began offering the baked goodies for sale, buoyed by the success of her signature brownies that turned out to be a hit even among her mom's friends. This was more than ten years ago, and the love for baking resulted to Batter Up, Bayer's successful home bakery business.

Bayer is back for the second time for this year's Merry Crémas, and definitely more excited than ever to showcase more than seven variants of her baked goods. Taking center stage is her signature brownies, which counts Alaska Crema as one of its ingredients. "I started using Alaska Crema by accident. I had to improvise because I was missing a yogurt so I decided to use Alaska Crema with lemon instead. That made all the difference and had led me to create something that is well-loved by everyone," she shares.

By joining Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest 2016, Bayer is looking forward to having an entirely different market to cater to, plus gaining the exposure, which is very important, especially for a young baker like her.

Have a taste of what these three food merchants can offer, while also getting the chance to enjoy other sumptuous dishes and sweet delights when you visit this year's Alaska Merry Crémas Food Fest at Trinoma. Who knows? You might just have met the next food superstar or tasted the next in-demand dish that day.

I have a 1 year old baby boy, as early as now my husband and I talks about our future plans for him and one important topic will always be about his education. It is great to know that we now have other options when it comes to educating our child and one of which is homeschooling. Personally, I would want my little boy to really experience regular schooling like what we did before wherein he can interact, socialize, gain friends and even experience the not so good ones because I believe these will help him in developing his character. But then again, homeschooling is not that bad too, read along for nore information...

On its sixth annual Philippine Homeschooled Conference Expo (PHCI) held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, gathered some of the counyry's experts on homeschooling to share their insights on the importance and implications of homeschooling. With the theme 'From Roots to Wings', PHC hopes to nourish the firm foundation that they have with parents by continuing to equip them with knowledge and virtues that would help them soar together.

One of the guest speaker was Mr. Eric Nicdao, District Manager of Philam Life. Nicdao explained that while there are distinct advantages to homeschooling, it is never without a challenge. " The cost of education for homeschooling a child is not expensive as others perceive it to be," said Mr. Nicdao. He further explained that this is because homeschooling entails the presence of one of the parents at home which will potentially reduce the family's overall income. With the increasing costs of college education, it will be very daunting to have only one breadwinner. Mr. Nicdao also shared why it is impornt to plan early for the child's education.

To help address these concerns, Philam Life launched a new education product, Future Scholar. It offers guaranteed education benefits and long term growth potential through access to expertly-managed funds. The plan will continue without the need to pay future payments should the payor pass away or suffer total and permanent disability.

It is to these concerns that Philam Life's Future Scholar plan focuses with its guaranteed educational benefits and unique features available like making life insurance coverage for parents or premium adjustment in times of great need.

Several years ago, I told my then "single" self that I don't want to work in Manila because mainit kasi, I came from Baguio so syempre the difference in weather was the best kaartehan I could ever reason out. My boyfriend then, now my husband (para clear lang tayo lol!) submitted my resume to different call center companies, I received several phone interviews and was invited for exams, in short I was hired. I told my mom that a friend reffered me and was able to look for a boarding house where I could stay (boyfriend ko talaga may gawa non pero secret lang hahaha). And so my Manila journey began, then we both transferred in OSRP where we became officemates, we loved the company and the people we worked with, I never thought we'd gain lifetime friends and we were thankful, very thankful for having them in our lives. Of course, plans change and we had to separate ways (nag-resign, lumipat etc.) but came our wedding day, they were present.

We were and until now renting a one bedroom apartment and I believe we are very blessed to have mababait na land lady (hindi yung parang sa movies na bungagera, naka rollers at may yosi type lol!) I remembered before, I was asked by one of our friend slash Ate (sa office) slash Ninang sa kasal (so if you are reading this alam mo na ikaw to hahaha!) on why don't we look for a property na for us, or a condo unit, my reaction was no, we don't want to kasi di rin kami magtatagal dito sa Manila, and we still want to raise our kids in our hometown etc, etc. Also, I never wanted the idea of living in a condo unit, limited space, kulob, expensive and I really wanted a house and lot. Fast forward to now, wala pa rin kaming house and lot, there are affordable ones but are outside Metro Manila na, we first considered the work of the Mister, travel time (hello traffic) spent supposedly with the family will be gone, some of the houses we saw was very very beautiful but the problem was, stores or markets are outside the villages pa (mahirap kapag nakalimutan kong wala na pala kaming bawang, malayo ang tindahan hahaha). And because we already have our baby B, we also considered nearby schools kung meron and syempre we wanted a good school for him din.

So fast forward ulit to yesterday, we finally signed up, for what? For a 2-bedroom condo unit, pre-selling here within the area, and no hindi po ako ahente hahaha before you stop reading nililinaw ko lang. Nilafang ko lahat ng inayawan ko noon, yes change can just be like that, yung inarte ko noon na ayaw ko ng condo, ayoko sa Manila, hello for my blogging events kung saan-saan na nga ako nakarating and it will be my husband's forever joke "ayaw mo sa Manila ha eh kung saan-saan ka nga pumupunta" my answer would always be "may pa-service naman yung PR" hahaha! So yesterday my dear friends was the biggest kaba of my life, because this will be the most expensive thing na pagdadaanan namin, we thought while B is still young and before he goes to school, we will move-in in about 5years, and it will be ours, our own, my kitchen! We have great schools in the area, our favorite grocery and we are in the middle of almost everywhere, malls nearby, hospitals too and a tricycle ride away from EDSA. And the condo and building model parang resort, open spaces yung corridors so you won't feel kulob, swimming pools yes may 's' tatlo kasi bakit ba haha, basta excited na kami. But of course with the excitement comes a few changes in our lifestyle, tipid mode muna as we face in achieving this new dream of ours and with the support of our dear families and friends and by God's grace we know we will pull this off with flying colors. The Road to our Forever (Meron nga kasi!)

Thanks for reading and I can't wait to share with you all in five years kung ano na ang naipundar namin, but for now back to regular entertainment-lifestyle-food-parenting blog posts muna ulit.

Love and Blessings to all!

After the successful night of the Powerhouse Concert, I still can't get enough of Michael Pangilinan it was kinda bitin lol! So if you want more of him or want to check out why I am raving about this young man, head on to his birthday concert.

He is currently busy preparing for his big day as it is said to be held at Rajah Sulayman Park in front of Malate Church in Malate, Manila. Michael is super excited for this concert since his proposed invited guests said yes and would join him on this very special day. So come one come all and celebrate real talent, I tell you, it will be worth it plus "kilig" bonus.

See you!

Premiere Actress Lovi Poe is much talked about these days. This is because of her role in the controversial flick "The Escort". In this new outing, Lovi plays the role of Yassi. She is a young girl who is working her way to care of her siblings. Yassi meets Cyrus, played by Derek Ramsay, a hot flashy guy who immediately gets smitten with Yassi. Cyrus however has bigger plans for Yassi. He hopes to introduce Yassi to the profession of being an escort. Millionaire Gary Montanilla, portrayed by the Christopher De Leon, enters into the picture. Gary also gets smitten with Yassi due to Cyrus' insistence. But Cyrus realizes that he loves Yassi and can't let go of her. What happens next is a never-ending series of conflicts among the three characters.

Actress Lovi Poe considers her role in "The Escort", as one of the most difficult and most challenging of her career. "Yassi is the boldest character I have ever played, boldest because she reveals her inner most character as the story unfolds. Yassi can't be bought. She has her principles. But she is not stupid either. In the end, she swallows her pride and follows her heart, but with a heavy price", reveals Lovi. Although the actress has won several acting awards in the past, she thinks that her portrayal of Yassi in "The Escort", is one of the hardest she has ever done. "It's also the most sensual", she adds.

Lovi Poe indeed seems to be flying high these days. aside from "The Escort" which opens on November 2, Lovi is seen Weeknights in her prime-time teleserye "Someone to Watch over Me", which airs at 9:15 pm on GMA 7.

"Bae" the term used for this cute guys from Eat Bulaga and we are greeted with their handsome-ness during our lunch breaks, this time you might want to switch lunch times or do the early lunch excuse to catch them before Eat Bulaga as they are now part of the show "TROPS". I think this came from the word "Tropa" which means group of friends, now your regular noontime dancing and singing bae's will show their acting skills together with Taki. "TROPS" will be aired weekdays before Eat Bulaga, starts October 24 and will be joined by great actors so watch out for it.

The one and only Bossing Vic Sotto is now the newest endorser of the famous chicken na walang sauce: Chooks To Go. Vic recalls that Chooks was first introduced to him by then his Eat Bulaga co-host now wife Pauleen Luna, he said it was weird at first that there was no sauce when he asked for it, and then after tasting the chicken, he realized it really doesn't need any sauce at all. And now when he was offered to represent the food brand, guess who is more excited to say yes immediately? Of course non-other than the wifey Pauleen. Chooks To Go is proud to say that they got the best chicken to offer, it is definitely a good take home ulam for the family especially now that there are times when we can barely cook dinner because of our busy lifestyle. I myself buts chooks to go when the need arises and sometimes I add lots of garlic, a little bit of water and a bottle of mang tomas, let is simmer and voila, lechon kawali the chooks style.

You can do more and experiment with different types of cooking with chooks but the best is still of course the original recipe steaming hot off the grill. Are you also a Chooks mommy? Have you tried to do other viands using Chooks? You may share your recipe so we can try it too!

Tempura is my favorite when we speak about Japanese Cuisine, yeah I know the likes of sushi, teriyaki etc., the ones readily available at Japanes fastfood but seldom do I visit. But there's this place in Makati Cinema Square which serves authentic Unagi (Eel) that I tried recently at Unakichi Japanese Restaurant here's my say.

I sometimes feel that Japanes food or cuisine is kinda pricey, but when we were given the chance to check out Unakichi's kitchen, I instantly believed that if your resto is as authentic as this one, I am willing to pay for quality and authenticity. Anway, the Eels used at Unakichi is fresh, they do the slicing in the morning as they open, yup if you are early, you'll be able to witness it. And so with all the other authentic Jap resto's in the metro Unakichi is the first and only one that serves Eel, which is very healthy and expensive but worth it.

We were treated to a sumptuous variety from their menu, I tried their Saba set the Mackarel type and oh it was fantastic, juicy, ang very yummy, it was the best so far. And of course we wouldn't pass the chance to try their Unagi, which goes through a long process before it is served. First they slice the Eel, then it will be places in a skewer or barbeque stick as we normally call it, then placed on a steamer, after that it will be dipped in their special scret saice and then grilled, the result? It was superb, very tasty and very healthy, try their set meal with Unagi which already has rice, salad, sides and soup that goes with it and you'll not regret it.

Unakichi is really something you could check out when you want a variety in your Japanese food and they can easily be located at ground floor, parking area of the Makati Cinema Square. Drop a comment when you get to check it out.

Jollibee has given a grand family day out for their Jollibee Family Values Awardees recently at the Pasig RAVE Park. The families were chosen and congratulated for their effort in helping out in our communities from their own efforts. As a treat, a special picnic luncheon was held at the RAVE Ampitheater where everyone including us enjoyed a Jollibee Supreme meal and of course Chicken Joy, and an added bonus of a special guests, who else but the very famous and adorable Jollibee! Kids and adult alike were very delighted to see Jollibee who was very game for photo ops and selfies with everyone.

After lunch, the whole group were divided per team for a tour at the RAVE Park, the kids were all giddy to check out the mini zoo, the park and the maze, I wasn't even expecting that there is a huge place like this one located in the heart of Pasig City, a very good place for families to bond and enjoy, away from gadgets and the city noise. To cap off the day, a group picture taking was made as a remembrance of a fruitful day and that families will always play an important role in our society.

I managed to drop by Greenfield Pavillion yesterday, while waiting for the Mister I browsed through the shops "tiangge" and checked out what's new since I've not been into the area for about a month now. I entered one of the shops which houses affordable "sari-sari" stuff and found myself in their toy section (yes I know always, always find myself in the for kids section yan na ang fave area namin) anyways, I saw a few toys but something really catched my attention, the small Xylophone, I even tested it if it works and it did, lately our 1Y4M Buchoychoy loves playing the piano app on Tatay's phone but because we agreed not to expose him (yet) to tablets, phones, iPads etc. I thought this was a good alternative, also educational since we've been showing him things that start with the alphabet so a good actual example (X for Xylophone). I was so happy to know that there's this shop where we could buy toys, cheap yet practical. From the start my husband and I agreed also not to buy super expensive toys until he reached the stage wherein he is responsible enought to play and take care of them as well, for now I will be posting and writing our #BenteSingkoSerye on my IG: Chubbychitchat and on this blog.

P.S While writing this post, B is enjoying the Xylophone

How about you mommies, what's your take on toys for your kids? Share them too please.

The most wonderful time of the year is finally just around the corner, and what is a better way to celebrate the festive season than to open a box of Franzia for every gathering. With the classy packaging of the three liter wine, a box of Franzia would already be more than perfect to share with friends in a small sized office, with your Christmas party barkada or a family reunion during Noche Buena.

Ask any entrepreneur his secret to success, and he would tell you that it is more than just luck. For Victor and Evelyn Lam, the powerhouse couple behind the Mrs. Lam Rice brand, it was really the four Ps of perseverance, persistence, parental care, and prayers for God’s blessings that guided them throughout the years.

Fact is, the family of Victor Lam has been in the rice business for generations before his generation decided to venture into other careers. He learned much of what he knows about the business from his uncles. That’s why he was confident of going back into rice trading in 2000.

After deciding on naming the business after his wife, he went through the arduous process of finding suppliers and trying out different varieties of rice. Unsteady supply from rice traders meant that quality would vary from one purchase to another, from one harvest to another. There was the also the issue of storage. Being new in the business, they learned that rice mills often did not entertain small orders.

“We could not sell rice without a consistent supplier and quality,” says Mrs. Lam. “We had to build our own brand, and consistent quality would be the key to our success.”
The Lams bit the bullet. They ordered an initial stock of 40 sacks of rice, thinking that what they couldn’t sell, they would just cook and serve on their dinner table. Only then did they learn that you could not keep rice in storage for more than three months, because weevils start to grow.

Door-to-door sales

The Lams started to personally sell their rice door-to-door in villages near their home, distributing flyers themselves, and eventually advertising in village publications. They did the deliveries themselves, using their own car and tapping their family driver. Their cook, whom she discovered had an extensive knowledge on rice varieties, helped out by answering and taking down phone inquiries.

Their base of loyal clients eventually grew from their relatives and close friends when they started placing their products in supermarkets. When their first big order came in, her parent’s and sister’s households helped in delivering their commitments in time. Mrs. Lam Rice had become a family endeavor.

Getting into supermarkets proved to be a tough task considering there are already a number of brands in the market.

“Honesty is very important when you deal with people,” says Mrs. Lam. “I remember the first clients we had. Initially we were told they don’t have space to display our rice. But after being very truthful in our answers to their queries, we were allowed to sell two varieties, namely Sinandomeng and Dinorado.”
To stand out from the crowd, the Mrs. Lam Rice brand was the first in the market to introduce vacuum-packed rice as a means of prolonging shelf life. From then on, sales started to grow slowly.
“We started getting accepted in various supermarkets, engaging in retail on a per kilo basis, as in wet markets. We kept our margins very low, and delivered best quality and tasting freshly milled rice. Our rice undergoes processing at par with big Thai rice mills,” says Mrs. Lam

Product expansion

Mrs. Lam Rice caters presently to the broad A to E market segment, from the budget-conscious to discriminating ones. Its premium local rice varieties include Dinorado Special, Whole Grain Sinandomeng, Long Grain, Sinandomeng Special, Intan, Sinandomeng, and Laon—palay that has been aged for a year for those who prefer fluffy and non-sticky grains with more yield. Its specialty varieties includes Thai Jasmine Milagrosa, Japanese short grain variety, Sticky or Glutinous (Malagkit), and Thai White Rice.

“When my father was diagnosed with cancer, we searched for an organic rice supplier and found a cooperative in Nueva Ecija to ensure a steady supply of church supervised farming and certified Organic Red and Organic Brown Rice,” says Mrs. Lam.

“Organic Rice is highly recommended for health enthusiasts as it is absolutely free from synthetic pesticides or chemicals,” she explained. “This is important because in semi polished rice, only the husk is removed. There is no polishing. That’s why we are able to avoid residual pesticides when we eat Organic Rice.”

The company also attended international expositions to upgrade its packaging to international standards. It started working from a small storage facility, roughly around 80 square meters, to intentionally limit its stock to just a few days’ supply of freshly milled rice. It counts top Chinese and Thai restaurants in Metro Manila among its loyal clients.

Breaking new grounds

For the past 16 years, Mrs. Lam Rice has relied on word-of-mouth and client recall to promote its products. However, the firm believes it is now time to actively market its inventory of rice varieties. It recently signed up actress and celebrity mom Danica Sotto-Pingris as its brand ambassador.
“Danica is already serving Mrs Lam’s Rice to her family, and they enjoy it. So, she is the perfect brand endorser for us,”Mrs. Lam proudly declares.

The endorsement of Sotto-Pingris of their rice varieties highlight the family orientation Mrs. Lam Rice wanted when the Lams were searching a name for their product.
“When we were deciding what to call it, my husband wanted a name that was more family sounding,” she recalled.
And the rest is now history.

Marion Aunor once again will set the fire on stage at the 19 East Bar and Grill on Sunday October 16, 9pm for her Bar Concert Tour Entitled "Marion + Le Band" hosted by Ambet Nabus, with the special participation of Ash-Ash and Jeff Cifra plus the special guest Mr. Michael Pangilinan.

This is another well deserved project for a lovely lady who really has a talent in both singing and song writing, as we do the interview I can't help but be amazed by her passion in singing and admits she enjoys performing now because she can be who she is on stage and no she is not doing those overly sexy stuff, she just wants to be the kinda like "Selena Gomez" look. She already had about 50 compositions and started to sell a few already, one of which is Kathryn Bernardo's song entitled "You Don't Know Me".

Right now, Marion already have released her 2nd Album under Starmusic and almost all the songs were her compositions plus a number of nominations for the Star Awards. You see that is real talent here, we'll hope to see and hear more of Marion because she deserves every inch of recognition in the music industry.

Quiapo Manila is now brighter and well lit now that Solar Power LED Streetlights with LED Signboard and CCTV along Quezon Blvd., Quiapo Manila is installed with the help and support of Mr Lee Inje who is the owner of Global Goldgoal Inc. We got the chance to interview him and asked why Quiapo when there are a lot of other Cities in the Metro? According to Mr Lee Inje when he came here in Manila back in year 2002, he thought that crimes were very rampant because the streets were dark that everything happens because it was too dark, and so he planned that in the near future, he would want to help out in lighting up the streets to lessen the crimes. Mr Lee Inje also shared how he loves the Philippines and the Filipinos in general because of our very happy and cheerful attitude, unlike in Korea where people are too serious, hence the decision of living here for good.

The Inauguration was held right in the heart of Quezon Blvd near the Quiapo Church and was attended by Manila Mayor Erap Estrada who gave a brief speech and a thank you for this wonderful help and donation. Hopefully with this partnership more street lights can be put up and lesser crimes for our beloved country.

P.S CCTV's are directly connected to the Manila Mayor's office, on the other hand the LED signboards will be used for government and city announcement purposes and not for advertisements.

A definitive guide on soap products you use at home

Cleaning products are essential to every household. There is a wide variety of cleaning products in the market and sometimes, we don’t pay attention to their differences because they visibly perform the same action. Up until now, some Filipino households still misuse cleaning products resulting in unnecessary risk to human health.

For washing of hands, use products that have anti-bacterial properties like the Cleene Foaming Hand Soap perfect to be placed in your kitchen and bathrooms. The special pump converts the small amount of liquid into foam needed for a regular hand wash.

Cleene Foaming Hand Soap has antibacterial and moisturizing properties, and comes in five scents namely, Luscious Strawberry, Heavenly Peach, Golden Citrus, Calming Lavender and Enchanting Sweet Pea available in all Mercury Drug and leading supermarkets nationwide.

#WeAreM - now using this hashtag for our family events 😃

My then boyfriend now husband has enjoyed travelling together when we were still younger, after getting married we took a break from our yearly escapades and decided we will continue the moment we have our own child. That moment is coming soon like next year and first time to go International, so as of this time I am having so many things I want to accomplish and unanswered questions because it will be different now that we have a toddler in tow. Our flight schedules were already booked by the doting Grandma who also wants to be part of this first family trip with the little one, so we have three adults and one toddler, and because Grandma did the plane booking, I do the research for accomodation, a very important task since we can't just book the way we used to and we'll be going out of the country. It is hard to just merely rely on recommendations without actually doing some research so nowadays technology helps a lot, super!

Good thing I researched on what App could be useful and easily give me a number of options in looking for a place to stay for all of us. Voila! Say hello to TRAVELOKA a one-stop-app anyone can use to search anything you need regarding travel from promos, deals, flights and my most needed information on hotels in Singapore! What a relief, scanning through hundreds of hotels with descriptions of their location, price, amenities, maps and photos of the area and rooms, tons of information right on my fingertips. So now I am totally relaxed since I know I can rely on TRAVELOKA which you can download directly from Google Play Store and iOS App Store, this app is so helpful and easy to use, I can't wait to show my finds to the husband so we can decide together what's best for our upcoming trip.

Super thankful for technology and apps like TRAVELOKA, download now and enjoy a budget friendly hassle free travelling!

How can someone be preggy but still pretty at the same time? That was my initial question when we were greeted by soon to be Mommy Mariel Padilla in their humble home down South. She already entered her third trimester, hence the invitation to do the send-off-party at their home because Robin Padilla already told her to stay put (so sweet!), you read it right, Mariel will be flying to the United States (as of today she is already there) because they decided especially Ma, that she'd be comfortable there with the privacy and advanced technology if ever the need arises (let's pray for her safe delivery ha) but hoping that everything will be normal.

Ma is very accomodating, keeps on asking if we are ok while waiting for her because she was still with another group, when it was finally our turn she immediately told me "parang nagkasama na tayo?" And then she started to recall that it was during a blogcon at Star Cinema for their movie 'Sa Ngalan ng Ama' that wasway before pa that is why I was surprised she even remembered (super na touch ako sana mabasa mo ito Ma). And so we move on to the chikahan portion, Ma (Mariel's nickname feeling close kasi ako lol!) states that she now has a hard time walking, that she is now doing the Penguin walk, she hardly gets full 8 hrs sleep because she takes her meds alternately every 4 hrs and baby is malikot na rin, while doing the interview she sometimes stop and talk to her tummy, super sweet mommy to be. Maria Isabella is the baby's name and please do call her that, no nicknames, no short cuts, if you want to kiss the baby, kiss the legs or the toes, only Mariel is allowed on the face and shoes should be left outside of the house (like what we did) but slippers were provided and they have a lot, I was even looking for my size lol! These are for now a few of her "bawal" for her baby, and I think it is acceptable naman and be respected by everyone.

Mariel is such a joy to converse with, despite everything that she has gone through, she still exuded that happy and good vibes kind of personality, I miss her na sa It's Showtime but seeing her happiness and excitement everytime she talks about her pregnancy, I am willing to wait when she comes back and hopefully we get to have another round of chikahan with her. By the way, I chanced upon watching Wowowin and they had their old game back which is "Hep-hep-Horray" and remembered Mariel when she was doing the segment with Mamang Polwang way back pa, nakaka-miss ulit. Oh well, I will surely miss the "Mariel Laugh" but looking forward to her come back with Maria Isabella, have a safe delivery Ma, ang enjoy motherhood dear. (Hugs and kisses)

Alviera, the developer of Sand Box in Pampanga invites all of us to experience the Alviera Hero Camp. If you've been to Sand Box before, now is the time to go back and give back because they have new things in store for us. One is, we can now enjoy the famous Giant Swing (my fave) and other activities during the night time, yes imagine doing activities at night, a whole new experience that is. Also they have packages for those of you who would want an overnight stay, choose between a good night camping experience or hotel accomodation, I suggest camping to go with star gazing and some bonfire yay! For more information visit Alviera's website or facebook account and see you there!

This camping event is good for family, barkada or group bonding with your loved ones. 😘
